No Binding. Condition: Very Good. . (illustrator). First Edition. Engraving 11 3/8 X 8 7/8". Well Preserved; Apparently A Scratch In The Plate 1/2" Long To Left Of Subject's Jaw. One Of A Large Collection Of Original Antique Engravings Formed By A Southern California Artist In The Early To Middle Twentieth Century. Each Plate Has Small Glue Marks On Reverse Where They Were Tipped In To An Album. Edward Smith (Fl. 1823-49) Was A Landscape, Figure, And Portrait Engraver. He May Have Been A Native Of Edinburgh But Appears To Have Worked Mostly In London.

Single sheet. Antique hand coloured copper engraving. Engraved surface 165 x 100 mm, overall 230 x 175 mm 23 x 17.5 cm.
