Condition: Very Good. Three items of Commonpress ephemera. Commonpress, first edited by Pawel Petasz, was a mail art periodical coordinated by mail artists. The acting editor for each issue would invite artists to send in works for inclusion by sending out invitation to contribute cards. These three items of ephemera are those very invitations in three different forms: 1. 'This is '82 Ail Art', 297 x 210 mm sheet folded twice. Recto features a hand drawn design for a flyer with ballpoint pen handwritten text in blue, green, red and black ink. A design for a Commonpres call for entries for the next issue. The intro states that 'this year nothing but ballpoint pen art will be accepted. Condition: creasing to folds, no tears or markings. 2. Commonpress no. 50 postcard, 149 x 101 mm. Recto features a black and white reproduction of the Taj Mahal, verso includes rubberstamps in blue, red and green and information on the forthcoming issue which asks contributrs to 'connect two or more previously unrelated items to produce a complex whole'. Condition: some creasing, no tears or markings. 3. 'Material Metamorphosis', 203 x 127 mm. Card printed black on white, call for contributions to issue no. 47 asks mail artists to submit clothing 'which will be ceremoniously ground into a pulp and transformed' into cotton rag envelopes and notepaper. Condition: some creasing, no tears or markings.
