Octavo. 247pp. Bookplate of noted American psychologist Henry Guze, (a co-founder, with Ellis, of both of the American Academy of Psychotherapists and the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex) and his wife on the front fly (which has caused some rippling). Short inked note by Guze on front pastedown, covers lightly bowed, near fine in a near fine dustwrapper with a bit of light edgewear and three very faint diagonal creases on the spine. Inscribed on the front fly to Guze and his wife: "For Henry + Vivan. Love, Al." Additionally, with a general letter ("Dear Colleague.") on Institute for Advanced Study in Rational Psychotherapy letterhead, Signed by co-author Janet L. Wolfe, laid in. Ellis is best known as the developer of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). In the introduction to a 2001 interview with Ellis in *Psychology Today*, Robert Epstein writes, "Given these techniques [REBT] have now become mainstream, it's safe to say that no individualnot even Freud himselfhas had a greater impact on modern psychotherapy." A nice association.
