No markings, but presentation label as noted, a lentil -size hole to the cloth at the upper left corner of the front cover, a brace of very faint… spots to the spine, a hint of rubbing to the cover corne rtips, book is tight and square, pages clean, Good used copy; lacking the dust jacket. Green cloth with blind stamped borders, gold spine title, x, 317pp, colour frontis, and 38 pp of monochrome plates. Arthur Mee's hero book, a companion volume to Little Treasure Island, was first published in 1921. This book features stories of various heroes, including Joan of Domremy, Drake of long ago, Walter Greenway, Toussaint L'Ouverture, the passengers of the Mayflower, William Lloyd Garrison, Socrates, Abraham Lincoln, Robert Louis Stevenson, Captain Cook, the Panama Gang, and more.
