Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 1st printing. 8vo. Black cloth. xxxiv, 382pp. Illustrated. 'This broad sampling of Gus Blaisdell's writings consists mainly of critical and philosophical essays from the 1970s and 1980s, but extends from the early 1960s, when he was a young writer finding his footing, to 2003, the year he died. While he takes up issues that were current during that era of cultural discontent, Blaisdell's writing is timeless in its consideration of the philosophical issues raised by the media and works of art he addresses.' Also included are excerpts from correspondence and a few samples of his poetry and imaginative fiction, such as the completed parts of the ambitious 'TLP Hotel' project, 'which transports Wittgenstein's "Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus" to the "endgames" of the West Coast art scene in the 1970s'. A hint only of splaying to the upper board, the jacket mildly rubbed/shelfworn.
