During the Revolutionary War, American-born Canadian merchants supported the American expedition to Canada led by Colonel Benedict Arnold by providing supplies to the American army on credit. One such merchant, John Halsted, played a prominent role in helping Arnold to support an army in the field in Quebec and Montreal in the winter and spring of 1776. This pamphlet is the first printing of Halsted's account book.
