The Wrights were Irish immigrants who served in the Mounted Rifles on the Texas frontier for several years during the 1850s. As well as a military memoir this is also a travelogue of Texas in the antebellum years as written from the outlook of the foreign visitors. Fine, bright copy issued without a dust jacket of one of the rarest Texas books.
