Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. First edition paperback in black background card covers illustrated w/rider on horse in an indoor ring and white titles. Horse & Riding truths abound in this unique work by Hans Senn. No names, tears or soil in the tight 42pp text with two illustrations. Book shows ligh…t color loss at periphery and a slight wave to the bottom of the first 1/3 of text but no evidence of water damage, probably from improper storage. Horseman's quotes, tips, poems, art, and words of wisdom from an established horseman and his thoughts of a lifetime with equines. A very interesting and rare book for any horse lover illustrated with two full page reproductions of Senn's charcoal equine art. Sadly Hans passed in 2007 and this work will not be republished. Apropos translates from German as targeted observations. This gem of a book condenses a great horseman s half-century of experience in training, teaching and competing. Opened to any page, a minute of reading is like a good riding lesson. These ideas taken straight to the saddle and put to use will achieve results in any discipline. Hans Senn has distilled from his wisdom a book that is eminently useful with its concise format all substance. His empathy for the horse flows through every page. Expect to read this book, ride your horse, come back and read it again. Expect to be challenged by the pithy, poignant and often unexpected observations of this consummate horseman in Hans Senn's book, Apropos . . . Horses & Riders.
