Hard Cover. Condition: Very Good -. First Edition. Hardcover without dust jacket, xi + 441 pages, plus a very clean and clear foldout map, plus 33 black-and-white photographs (NOTE: of which one is missing, "West African Women showing Strange Forms of Neck-Wear and Head-Dress"); book has been rebound in plain red cloth (near fine) with new endpapers in contrast to the more age darkened original text pages, but sadly the binding is developing some looseness again (holding firmly for now, but fragile), and approximately 165 pages have ink underlinings and/or annotations.
