Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Special Edition. "A complete ten-volume set, each book about the size of your hand, gilt titles glinting on every spine, organized by *theme* ? Adventure, Romance, Mystery, Love, Drama, Courage, Women, Men, Ghosts, Humor. That's *The World's 100 Best Short Stories,* the 1927 Funk & Wagnalls anthology edited by Grant Overton, and finding the entire run together ? not picked apart over a century into single-volume orphans ? is genuinely uncommon. On a shelf, this set just *looks* like literature. The set is in very good shape overall. There are no dust jackets. The gilt spine titles are legible on all volumes except Volume 3, where the gilt is faint but the volume itself is present. Age-appropriate toning runs throughout. Worth knowing volume by volume: Volume 9 has small fraying at the cover near the spine; Volume 7 has a hole on the spine; and a rip on the contents page. Volume 2 has a pencil note on an inside page; Volume 1 has a stain dot. The bindings appear to be intact across all ten volumes. This set earns its keep as a complete decorative and reading library rather than as ten individually rare titles ? a wonderful piece for vintage-book collectors, decorators, and short-fiction readers who want the full themed run on one shelf. Please review the attached photos for the condition of each volume. Ships carefully packaged.".
