This wonderful old atlas is in really good condition, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. Preface to Fourth Edition by Geor…ge Goodall. There is a one page listing, alphabetical list of countries of that time. There are two colourful pages showing the flags of all nations of the British Empire, European Flags, American Flags, Asiatic and African Flags. There are two colourful pages showing: World Hemispheres-Physical: Water Hemisphere, Land Hemisphere, Volcanoes of the World, 1:225,000,000, Volcanic Regions of Italy, Japan, East Indies, South America, Central America and West Indies. 1:40,000,000. Pages 3-4 show World-Climate, Vegetation and Population at that time. Pages 5-6 show: The World, Political and Communications. Pages 7-8 show: North Polar Regions and South Polar Regions: scale 1: 35,000,000. Pages 9-10 show: Atlantic Ocean-Communications, scale 1:40,000,000, Isochronic Charts. and so on, the list goes on with an abundance of maps and fabulous information. So very detailed, engaging, a specific and precise body of work of that period of time, quite amazing contribution of work. Please note this atlas is large and very heavy therefore postage/shipping may increase from listed price, depending on final destination, so its probably worth checking postage/shipping costs prior to shipping. A truly wonderful atlas book, that deserves to be preserved for historical reasons, and future cartographers.
