Illustrated by 44 pages of plates, including portrait frontispiece and facsimiles, by folding genealogical table and by text figures, including three maps. Revised edition of the well illustrated definitive biography of John Bunyan by John Brown (1830-1922), Minister of the Church at Bunyan Meeting, Bedford, originally published in 1885. Edited by Frank Mott Harrison with marginal notes, addenda and appendices. It includes an appreciation of Dr. Brown by Dr. J. D. Jones and a bibliography of his writings by Geoffrey Langdon Keynes. The appendices include lists of Bunyan's works and translations, etc. Frank Mott Harrison compiled the Bibliography of the Works of John Bunyan (1932) and donated his collection of Bunyan's works to Bedford Library in 1938.
