Red Cloth. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Good+. U.S. Edition; (c)1968 in France. Fine/Good+. U.S. Edition; (c)1968 in France. Hardback. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. 242 pages, plus 6 p. list of illustrations; 271 illustrations, including 80 plates in full color; from the dj: "Mr. Gerard.has produced , under the supervision of Salvador Dali himself, this luxurious volume--the quintessence of the Dalinian artbook. The numberous superbly printed illustrations, including startling details and many works never before reproduced, are juxtaposed with Dali's own thoughts on the subjects that most deeply concern him and his painting--war, his wife Gala, space-time, eroticism, mysticism, etc. ." Dj condition: The dj edges show some moderate wear, most noticeably the dj corners and spine sides and extremeties. An area circa 5 x 3 inches, on the back dj panel, inside, has received dampness in the past, and shows a pink color; likewise, the rear cover opposite, shows a fainter damp stain on the red cloth. Dali, Salvadore (illustrator).

Hardcover. Condition: Good +. Dust Jacket Condition: Very good. Later printing (?). Quarto, 243pp., illustrated. Harry N. Abrams did not state first or later printings during this period, but we presume this is a later printing, as the Abrams logo on the front panel appears to be that of ca. 1970-74. A slightly shaken copy, good or better, with general scuffing to the edges, especially the corners. Still a crisp, sound copy. In a very good dust jacket, showing mild edgewear and some scrapes/abrasions to the rear panel, which is typical for this title. Nevertheless a fantastic copy, SIGNED boldly in purple ink by Dali and dated 1976 on the blank leaf opposite the title page. Signed copies of this excellent volume are rather uncommon compared to some of other of Dali's books.
