    Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 3rd Edition. "A History, Critical and Biographical, of British Authors with Specimens of Their Writings". Third edition and believed to be first printing. In good brown half leather and dark green cloth boards, gilt edging and five horizontal raised bands to spine with gilt. The boards are flat; quite tight, with some give to front cover; the green cloth is unmarked; the leather is worn; mostly to the edges. Red, brown and white marbled end papers; clean, with wear to centres. Faded marbled cut edges. The text block is printed in two columns and with six b/w plates (including frontispiece). The pages are tightly bound, straight and very lightly tanned around the edges. Names of two previous owners on prelims. Good plus condition. Heavy.
