Soft cover. Condition: Fair. Original book and NOT printed new when ordered by customer. Nicks at bottom and top of spine. Marks on pp.6-7. Talks on Christian themes or on topics (eg choosing a profession) from a Christian perspective. Dr Lascelles apparently a dead medical practitioner (I think!). No date given (1928?). 219 pages. Also for historians exploring inter-war religious campaigners and thinkers? Also coverage of spiritualism and perhaps messages received through a medium. Quoted postage for UK 2nd class. Overseas at least £6.60.

Harewood explains that he 'originally asked Mrs Rankl to think of someone who had known her husband for, at any rate, a portion of his continental career who would be prepared to review his career before he came to this country, and also to give some idea of what he had achieved since arriving here [.] when the moment came she had to say that there appeared to be nobody who had known him abroad who had the necessary musical qualifications. When I saw her about 10 days ago I said I would find someone myself. [.] I do hope you do not think that we were simply putting out feelers and asking two people so as to make sure of getting one.'.

First edition. Uncommon spiritualist work from the Rev. Charles A. Simpson being essays channeled through his spirit guide, "Dr. Lascelles." Simpson established The Seekers Healing Center and later, in 1933, "discovered the 276 acres Addington Park, and transformed it into a city of prayer," under the instruction of Lascelles. The Seekers Trust are still active today. OCLC cites perhaps 7 physical holdings of the first edition. 8vo, 286pp. Spirit photograph of Lascelles as frontis and one other plate in the book. Publisher's pink cloth, spine lettered in gilt. Slightly cocked, corners bumped, owner's inscriptions to pastedowns, else a near fine copy.
