He was a member of the committee that in 1512 restored the Medici to power in Florence after eighteen years of exile. He served as a diplomat to Charles V of Spain in 1515 and to Pope Paul III and in 1530, Corsi became Florentine gonfaloniere at the behest of Pope Clement VII, the Medici Pope.

Fra le opere conservate a Villa La Quiete, sono stati individuati i Ritratti del granduca Pietro Leopoldo e della consorte Maria Teresa di Borbone, qui presentati dopo il restauro di Lisa Venerosi Pesciolini; due quadri rispondenti ai canoni della ritrattistica ufficiale, copie di ritratti già compresi nelle collezioni granducali, e noti in numerose versioni. Attraverso la ricerca d'archivio Donatella Pegazzano è riuscita a dare un nome all'autore, aggiungendo un nuovo piccolo tassello alla storia tutta 'al femminile' di Villa La Quiete: Maria Diomira Franchi, pittrice fiorentina di cui si conservano pochissime memorie e che entra a buon diritto nel novero delle molte donne che hanno animato questo luogo. I due dipinti, trafugati anni fa, sono oggi riconsegnati grazie al recupero dei Carabinieri del Nucleo TPC di Firenze. Nel volume viene inoltre ampiamente trattato da Maria Maddalena Grossi l'avanzamento del progetto di restauro, studio e valorizzazione del patrimonio di Villa La Quiete e della sua fruizione, oltre al curioso capitolo di Raffaele Niccoli Vallesi sui resoconti di pranzi e colazioni che qui i reali amavano consumare.
