Axinn, 1929-2009, was an American poet and writer but was also an aviator, real estate investor, and investment banker. Axinn attended Hofstra and Adelphi Universitie, became the Associate Dean of Hofstra, and has creative writing awards named after him at Adelphi. AxinnÕs most famous work is the novel Spin (2003) which was turned into a film.
