Add to basketCondition: Sehr gut. Original softcover binding, 107 pages, numerous illustrations, original price list loosely inserted, very good condition. Excellent sales catalogue, Leonov joined Spinks previously before from St Petersburg`s Eremitage Museum, where he was curator of the Tibetan collection. Spink published only a few cataloges on the art of Tibet in the 1990ies, this is probably the most important. It features i.a. a 11th century Padmapani statue in Pala style with a height of 127 cm - one of the largest figures of this age in the West. Also sculpture from Densatil, i.a. a plaque with 4 goddesses and a marvellous Mahapratisara (one of the 5 Pancaraksha goddesses). 3 early ivory sculptures, although quite small, of the finest quality, at least one from Yuan China in the Khara Khoto style. Last not least a collection of 288 photographs taken by Henry Martin who helped to built the telegraph line from India to Gyantse in 1908, which are unpublished in their majority - 11 at least are published in this catalogue, judging from them they are of excellent quality, fitting to the art in this catalogue. Quite uncommon. Sprache: Englisch Gewicht in Gramm: 1050.
