Half Leather. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Marbled paper on boards, with maroon leather at spine and corners of boards. Gilt lettering to spine. Rubbing to extremities. Small previous owner's inked name at bottom of reverse of front end paper. Page edges all marbled. Illustrated with 21 plates (two fold out ). A previous owner has listed the plates to form an index on a front free page. For it's age, this scarce first edition is in a good+ condition, with some mild spotting and browning. Overall clean and tidy and, above all, firm. 334 pages, plus lists of subscribers. Also bound in with this volume is a scarce' Biographical Notice of the Rev. David Ure; With an Examination, Critical and Detailed of His History of Rutherglen and East Kilbride'. An unstated edition, dated 1865. The author's preface is dated 1865, suggesting that is also a first edition. Tissue protected coloured vase illustration as frontis. 59 pages.
