The printed labels indicate this edition to be "Brewster"s Ferguson", importantly adding "all the discoveries in the science which have made during the last thirty years". There are twelve chapters by Brewster and a new one on Practical Astronomy with further corrections and improvements first appearing in this 1821 edition. At the rear of volume I are 18 folding plates, 8 are in volume II (26 in total , complete). Some rebound copies have collected those plates into a separate volume. Some cracking and chipping, but both volumes secure. Rarely found in this original state. A publisher's catalogue of 8 pages is bound in.
