    First edition. First edition. [xiv] 224 pp. Frontispiece at title and six other black and white illustrated plates, with illustrations throughout text. Large 8vo. This copy was originally dedicated from the author through his publishers to Henry Fairfield Osborn, the president of the American Museum of Natural History for 25 years. An autograph note on the upper front of the dust jacket reads, "A Gift from Charles Galton Darwin acknowledged by letter. Jan. 1st 1932" The book was later owned by psychoanalyst, Dr. Jose Barchilon. Blue cloth boards with gilt titles stamped on upper and spine, dedication in pencil on f.e.p., library index card and gallery invitations laid in. In clipped dust jacket with manuscript note on upper front; a near fine copy with some small tears and toning to dj, interesting provenance [xiv] 224 pp. Frontispiece at title and six other black and white illustrated plates, with illustrations throughout text. Large 8vo.
