Danz was Professor of Oriental languages at the University of Jena. He was considered by contemporaries to be among the greatest of Hebrew scholars and his several works on Hebrew grammarremained standard works for nearly a hundred years. (Jewish Encyclopedia). ##### CONDITION: Good: a clean, tight copy overall but age-toned, light-to-moderate foxing throughout. Title hand-written on spine in black ink, surface wear and several small stains and nicks to cover; rear end paper scuffed [See photos].

Each section begins with its own title page. Johann Andreas Danz was a German theologian and orientalist, with a special interest in the Hebrew language. Leather chipped and worn along the spine, with the bottom 1 inch MISSING and the leather becoming detached from the adjacent section. Leather split, very chipped and worn along the front hinge and head of the spine. Heavy scuffing to the paper covering the boards. Minor soiling. Heavy bumping and scuffing along the extremities.
