Edité par les "Foyers du Soldat", imprimé par Coquemer à Paris,1919, in folio (55 x 40 cm), 12 feuillets. 10 planches 55 x 40 cm contrecollées sur les 12 que contient cet album, reproductions de dessins au crayon de Daniel Putman Brinley. En feuillets. +++++++ Portfolio contenant 10 des 12 dessins faits sur nature dus au crayon de Daniel Putnam Brinley (1879 -1963) artiste américain, membre de l'Association dite "Young Men's Christian Association" (Y.M.C.A.), venu en France pendant la première guerre mondiale où il séjourna entre 1917 et 1919, pour se mettre au service de l'Oeuvre des Foyers du Soldat (Union Franco-américaine). L'artiste reçut pour tâche de travailler à la décoration d'un grand nombre de Foyers. Au cours de ses travaux dans les régions dévastées, il vécut au milieu des ruines. l vit les formidables bouleversements de la terre sur la ligne "Hindenburg", les éventements des villes et des villages, l'anéantissement du beffroi d'Arras et la mutilation des cathédrales en France. C'est donc toute l'horreur de la guerre que restitue ici M. Brinley - Bon état avec quelques marges jaunies pour ce port-folio de reproductions de dessins de M. Brinley mais avec seulement 10 planches sur les 12 que comprend cette édition.

Thin elephant portfolio with ties, cloth-backed boards (folio is well-rubbed and bumped at corners, but plates are fine). Loose plates as issued, with handwritten titles under each.
