Offered is the Vol. 4 No. 8 (August 1938) issue of "The National Legionnaire: Dedicated to the Minute-Men on the Firing Line" published by The American Legion out of Indianapolis, Indiana. A folded newspaper, as issued, when unfolded measures 11-3/8" by 17" and contains 12 pages including front and rear covers. With two cartoons and numerous photographs, highlights include: cover headline and article "HIT TRAIL FOR LOS ANGELES: Departments Plan Treks to Convention"; news article "Rid Schools of Red Label, says [Daniel J.] Doherty"; photograph "'Iron Lung' Presented by Koch-Conley Post"; center photospread entitled "Los Angeles Welcomes Twentieth Annual National Convention of the American Legion, September 19 to 22" (with photos of Los Angeles as well as Paramount movie star Evelyn Keyes, who will serve as one of the judges for the "Miss American Legion" contest); news article "Legislation Considered in Capitol: National Defense Measures To be Proposed in Next Congress"; rear cover portrait photos of "War Buddies, Now Movie Stars, Await Convention" (with photos of, among others, Jack Benny, Rudy Vallee, Lewis Stone, Conrad Nagel).
