Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Cover illustrations by Frank R. Paul (illustrator). 1st Edition. OK, there's not a lot of "science" in this mass-market paperback "science-fiction" entry (Avon fantasy novel 281, very-good with inch-and-a-half diagonal creases to outside corners of the rear wrap and a small (inch-and-a-half) tidemark to bottom outside corner of page edges), advertised as the "first appearance of this novel in book form," though the tale originally appeared in the spring 1931 issue of Hugo Gernsback's "Wonder Stories Quarterly," shortly after Clyde Tombaugh's discovery of what may or may not be the "ninth planet." But if two male scientists DID discover the anti-gravity plate, and used it to get their 70-foot space ship (which looks suspiciously like a P-40 Warhawk) all the way to Pluto, don't you think they DESERVED to discover there a race of scantily clad space babes with miners' lamps growing out of their foreheads? 159 pp. Reduced from $32.
