Pages are very clean and intact except for light age toning throughout and a few small b…umps to extremities. Covers are very clean and intact except for light to moderate browning, a few smudges, faint dampstaining toward edges, and small chips to head and tail of spine. A Very Good copy. This is a government report showing the results of mechanical tests performed on pumping plants in Southern California used to raise water for irrigation. Three types of plants were tested, namely, plants driven by gasoline engines, plants driven by electric motors, and steam-driven plants. The tests were planned and carried out by J. N. Le Conte and C. F. Tait. S. M. Woodward contributed much of the analysis and discussion and checked all of the tables in the report. The report was completed under the direction of Elwood Mead, Chief of Irrigation and Drainage Investigations. The tests and report were jointly overseen by the Irrigation and Drainage Investigations of the Office of Experiment Stations and the State of California.
