Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Hans Alexander Mueller [Woodcuts] (illustrator). The book and jacket are in very good condition, the jacket has a fair amount of shelf rubbing with some areas of discoloration, minor stains and bends, there has also been large areas of paper lost in the jacket primarily the area near the top inner flaps and a small areas and the top of the spine, the jacket has since been wrapped for preservation purposes. The interior text and images apart from some very minor foxing appear clean and clear of stains or marks throughout. 'Presents a unique union of artists, offering as it does the matchless prose of Joseph Conrad, "incomparably the greatest artist who ever wrote a novel," illustrated by the sensitive perceptive woodcuts of Hans Alexander Mueller. In these woodcuts the publishers feel they have presented a perfect interpretation of the fluent chiaroscuro, the delicate nuances, the broad sweep of Conrad's writing. This is a magnificent record of Conrad's success. In it you will find those stories of the sea, intense mysterious, which have made the far reaches of the ocean and the distant shores of tropic islands a literary homeland for Joseph Conrad. Contains Youth; Heart of Darkness; The Nigger of Narcissus; Il Conde; Gaspar Ruiz; The Brute; The Secret Sharer; Freya of the Seven Isles; The Secret Agent; The Duel; Typhoon; The End of the Tether; The Shadow Line; A Personal Record.' x+713 pages. 8.75 x 11.55 inches.
