Included with the photograph are two mimeograph pages regarding captioning on stills from the film. Based on the classic 1902 novel by Arthur Conan Doyle, the first adaptation of the novel to be filmed in color. Actor Peter Cushing would go on to reprise his role as the world's greatest detective in the 1965 BBC series "Sherlock Holmes," and in the 1984 television movie "The Masks of Death."
