Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Probable second edition, after the first edition in 1881 (the title page says "New Edition - New Illustrations - New Rules"). Very good in the original brownish red cloth with black and gilt on the spine and front board. Tape ghosts on front and rear endpapers (I imagine some sort of p…rotective covering was used, and secured by tape, leaving the offset ghosts, but no actual tape on the paper). Pony Express Museum stamps on the front pastedown, as well as a small label from a San Francisco bookseller. The gilt on the spine is just slightly dulled, but the gilt illustration of a man executing a masse shot on the front cover is vivid and bright. Tight and square, includes over 300 diagrams in green ink explaning various shots (with text on the facing page), a few illustrations and plates, and an index; 335 pages. Includes a section on the history of billiards, a glossary, and tips on the care of equipment. 0.
