SYNOPSIS: The Precision System, created by the late C. C. Wei, made its first international appearance in 1967, when a virtually unknown Taiwan Chinese team won the Far East Bridge Championship. It was subsequently adopted by a number of the world's top players, who have used it to win the Bermuda Bowl World Team Championship, the World Olympiad Ladies' Pair Championship, the Olympiad Open Pair Championship and many other national and international tournaments. Since then, however, the expert players have adapted the system by means of complicated asking and control-seeking bids which in the process has robbed the system of the essential simplicity that C. C. Wei was aiming at, a simplicity that made it easier, and therefore more successful, for the average player. In collaboration with Charles Goren, C. C. Wei added only a few of the experts' improvements, restoring the emphasis to the basics of an essentially simple system, and making it easier for the average rubber-bridge player to adopt.
