There are 28 separate sections (signatures) held within a blue cloth slipcase. All 18 full page, full color plates are present - and can be stand-alone illustrations, great for framing; each measures 8 3/4" wide x 11 1/2" high. There are also numerous black-and-white text illustrations. With the index, there are 427 pages. Slipcase has minor marks. Book.
