Turkey hunting superstars Mark Drury and Brad Harris share their unparalleled experience and expertise on calling and hunting America's No. 1 game bird. Written by Jim Casada, editor at large for Turkey & Turkey Hunting magazine, and edited by Brian Lovett, editor of T&TH, this book condenses years of wisdom into a revealing, insightful guide. Drury and Harris, nationally renowned champion callers who hunt and film turkeys throughout the country every spring, instruct hunters how to locate, roost and set up on turkeys. They reveal calling tactics that whip gobblers into a frenzy, and detail decoy secrets that will lure the toughest longbeards. Also, Drury and Harris tell hunters when to move, when to sit tight and what to do when birds just won't respond. More importantly, they provide advanced shooting instructions so hunters will never miss another gobbler. Even experienced hunters will improve their spring success by following Drury and Harris' advice. They offer Championship turkey calling secrets. Advanced hunting methods that work anywhere in the country. Roosting, shooting and set-up tactics. This is the book that shares the combined wisdom of Mark Drury and Brad Harris.

Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. VERY GOOD+, Unread, Has a very few minor scuff marks on gilt edges - Palladium Press, Firearms Classics Library has the same characteristics as Easton Press titles and are produced in genuine full leather. Features include: 22 karat gold accents and lettering and decoration on covers and spine; Printed with acid neutral pages that are thread sewn, not glued; Gilt page edges; silk page marker remains tucked into pages in the original new position; The covers have resistance when being opened indicating the book has not been read. 4 raised spine bands; silk moire end papers. 321 pages : illustrations ; 23 cm. Reprint of Macmillan, 1921 edition. . . . . . . . FROM THE EDITORS NOTE: Some indication of The American Shotgun's enduring value can also be found in its printing history. After the work was published by Outing Publishing Company in 1910, the rights were acquired by Macmillan, which offered reprints in 1921, 1928, and 1930. Wolfe Publishing brought out a reprint in 1987. Askins's first (and most important) book is not particularly rare, with copies of the first edition usually being offered for less than $100 and those of the later printings being in the $40 to $75 range. However, copies do not appear in catalogs with any great frequency, and the title is missing from many collections. Recognized for its authoritativeness and practical value, and considered delightful reading, The American Shotgun certainly deserves inclusion in the Library of which it now becomes a part.

FROM THE AUTHORS FOREWORD: One chapter will be devoted to the history of the shotgun, chiefly by way of making the evolution of the arm clear, but in the main the work will treat guns as they are today. Ammunition will receive due space, with some account of powders and the loads to which they are best adapted. Hand-loading and experimental work will not be ignored. The second half of the book will handle shotgun shooting at some length. The shotgun itself is but half the story, and the other half is how to shoot it. The principles and terms of wing-shooting will be explained, and then more briefly the shooting of some of the different game birds.

Printed with acid neutral pages that are thread sewn, not glued; Gilt page edges; silk page marker sewn into the binding; 4 raised spine bands; silk moire end papers. 177 pages : illustrations ; 24 cm. Reprint of Greenberg, 1952 edition. . . . . . . The pepper-box revolver or simply pepperbox (also "pepper-pot", from its resemblance to the household pepper grinder) is a multiple-barrel repeating firearm that has three or more barrels grouped around a central axis. It mostly appears in the form of a multi-shot handheld firearm. Pepperboxes exist in all ammunition systems: matchlock, wheellock, flintlock, percussion, pinfire, rimfire and centerfire. The pepperbox should not be confused with a volley gun (like the seven-barrel long gun made by Nock), a firearm that fires multiple projectiles simultaneously by use of multiple barrels.[1] The difference is that a volleygun fires all the barrels simultaneously while the pepperbox is a repeater. The pepperbox should also not be confused with or as a development of the Gatling gun, which fires rapidly by the use of rotating multiple barrels.--Wikipedia.
