This actor starred in innumerable "B" Westerns of the 1940s. Large, bold signature in black marker on a heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p., n.y. Fine. Accompanied by an outstanding glossy 10" X 8" photograph. Very good. Quite minor wear. Original Republic Pictures publicity still for Carson's third film, "Bordertown Trail" (1944), showing Carson at center with hands up in surrender with bad guy Fontaine (Addison Richards) at right holding him at gunpoint and removing the pistol from Sunset's holster -- while Carson's sidekick Frog Millhouse (Smiley Burnette) at left holds up one hand while the other reaches for Sunset's other pistol! This pair is also accompanied by a comic book, "The Great American Western Presents: Sunset Carson" (Longwood, FL: AC Comics, 1991), a keepsake publisher shortly after Carson's death with introduction by his widow Jeane. Small 4to. Stiff color pictorial wrappers. 42pp. Extensive color illustrations. Near fine. Two complete comics, "Night of the Rattler" and "Ghost Town Gauntlet," with section of black-and-white photo section separating them. An intriguing trio: Later life signature, vintage still scene and unusual comic.
