His style, somewhat naive, is influenced by Cezanne, Matisse, and the Expressionists. Raffaele Carrieri (Taranto,1905-Lombrici di Camaiore,1984) scrittore e critico d'arte, è una delle figure più affascinanti, e dimenticate, del Novecento letterario e artistico italiano. Dopo l'esordio come autore di racconti e romanzi si dedicò prevalentemente alla poesia. Fra le sue raccolte principali: «Il lamento del gabelliere» (1945), «Il Trovatore» (1953), «Canzoniere amoroso» (1958), «Io che sono cicala» (1967), «Stella-cuore» (1969), «Le ombre dispettose» (1974), «Fughe provvisorie» (1978), «La ricchezza del niente» (1980).
