Black-and-white portrait frontispiece of King George VI (himself a noted piegon fancier) accompanied with its original well-preserved tissue-guard. Richly illustrated with many additional black-and-white photographs, portraits, illust…rations, in-text drawings, charst, tables, humour vignettes, etc. Foxing to the margins of the front cover, light sporadic pencil underlining to some leaves, otherwise, the text-block remains largely clean and unmarked with firm, sound binding; very good. Rare to be offered in commerce. Nominally corresponds to OCLC #30191429 which records a variant with a later publication date of 1954 (Bailey & Swinfen).
