An important chronicle of the authors' time in northwestern Maine woods in the winter of 1876-1877. The authors were both sporting camp owners on Western Maine lakes and respected woodsmen and businessmen. Danforth was the subject of Chasing Danforth: A Wilderness Calling by Robert Cook. Barker wrote the storied Lake and Forest as I Have Known Them. Rubbing to covers, heavier rubbing to top and bottom of spine. Endpapers mottled. Text block tight and without owner's names. No jacket, probably as issued. Ships insured, in a box.
