This book, with its forty-eight full page plates of illustrations, forms the third chapter in Gordon Anthony's photographic record of the National Ballet Company, with began with Ballet and cotinued with The Vic-Wells Ballet. The record here brought up to the year 1942. Besides studio and action studies of Margot Fonteyn, Robert Helpmann and the leading soloists of the Company, there are many full-stage pictures of the new ballets. The Introduction, dealing with the history of 'The Wells' since 1938, is by the Hon. Eveleigh Leith, who also wrote the introduction to Gordon Anthony's recent book on Margot Fonteyn.
