Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Fair / - Undated but circa 1900. Colour frontispiece. Gilt titles and decorations to spine on red pictorial boards.Slight scuffing to spine and light soiling to covers. Binding is OK. Tanning and spotting to page edges and end papers. No inscriptions. Not ex-library. OK as a reading copy.

Decorative Cloth. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. A very nice copy with striking Art Nouveau decorative cloth boards and clean pages internally. There is a little knocking to the corner tips and the spine looks a touch sun faded but this is a splendid copy. There is no date of publication but the Sunday School prize gift inscription on the front fly leaf is dated 1911, so that gives us a clue. From research we think the book was published around the 1890s. Mild foxing here and there throughout. Despite these few flaws and super copy.

No foxing, previous owner written name on fly sheet as a presentation. Black and white frontispiece. Top and bottom of spine rubbed and a bit tatty, and on the edge of spine splitting a little on the outer edge. All pages firmly placed within the boards.

Book has a pronounced forward lean, Wear with creases & slight frays to spine-ends, small wear to corners. A pale red in colour which looks as though faded lighter all over with some bronzing & small marks to spine, and a few finger marks/dark marks to rear. Browned end-papers, frontis. + 3 plates as detailed, frontispiece has erorion/small parts of oprnign edge missing. Some yellowing to page-edges. Text is very clean & in nice condition.

Prize presentation plate on front paste down indicating the book was presented to Hilda Sampson for good conduct and regular contributions by the Wesleyan Sunday School on London's City Road in 1901. Original Cloth. Condition: Very Good. First is 1890 but I think this much later given the prize dedication is dated 1920. 4¾ x 7¼" pp. 192 with 4 colour illustrations. Very good in faded green decorated cloth with gilt lettering. Firmly bound. Edges foxed, endpapers stained and a little foxing to early pages. Ink prize dedication on fep. No dust wrapper.

Dw states White Star series and features painting of a boy in tatters. 4 colour plates (two reversed in position). Very clean tight book BUT edges quite heavily spotted. Dw has some loss at base of front cover removing part of title and most of author's name.

Condition: Poor. Soiling to covers and edges. Some marking to pages. Spine faded. Previous owner's inscription and bookplate to fep.
