Hardback. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 1914. First edition for 1913. [viii], 247pp. and 19 black and white illustrations. The King's Royal Rifle Corps was an infantry rifle regiment of the British Army that was originally raised in British North America in 1756 as the 62nd (Royal American) Regiment to defend the colonies against attack by the French and their indigenous allies. The King's Royal Rifle Corps Chronicle was first published by the Regiment in 1901, and each volume provides a record of Regimental news for the year and is a valuable book of reference for all events in which the interests of the Regiment are concerned. This volume includes a calendar and sections on annals of the Regiment, unaccredited battle-honors, a honeymoon in British East Africa, the 63rd Halifax Rifles, the Regimental point-to-point races, green jacket week, Chelsea Pensioners, officers on the active list on half pay or extra regimentally employed, Regimental records (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th battalions, the Queen Victoria Rifles, obituary, and a list of past officers. The book is bound in the original dark green cloth covered boards with silver titling on the spine and a silver-stamped Regimental badge on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear to the boards, two small stains on the front board and one stain on the rear board. The spine ends are bumped. The contents are tight and clean with a little scattered light foxing, including some marks on the title-page. The half-title and last page of the book are more heavily foxed. There is no inscription.
