Photograph
Three vintage photographs, a portrait photograph of Alice Faye, a double-weight publicity photograph of Alice Faye and George Murphy, and a studio still photograph of a vocal chorus from the 1937 film. The portrait photograph of Faye has three stamps on the verso, two studio stamps, one crediting photographer Ray Jones, and one noting Faye. The publicity photograph has a mimeo snipe and an Advertising Advisory Council stamp on the verso. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. Alice Faye is a Broadway star who falls for George Murphy, unaware he is posing as an Oklahoma millionaire for a PR stunt. Nominated for an Academy Award. 7.5 x 9.25 inches and 8 x 9.75 inches. Very Good plus.
