Condition: Muy bueno. First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Printed in the U.S.A. [Date from the copyright page.] First Edition, stated. First Printing. Foreword to 'Studies in Prejudice' by Max Horkheimer and Samuel H. Flowerman, List of Tables, List of Charts, Preface, Appendix, Index; xix, [iii], 227, [7], pages. The original navy-blue cloth is very good, with some bumping of the spine ends; corners are square; a publisher's insignia in blind on the upper board; gilt-lettering bold on the spine. The interior is bright, despite a touch of toning to the endpapers and the text-block fore-edge. The interior is completely clean; however, there is one closed tear in the margin of the Contents page. The original dark-brown printed dust jacket has taken all the wear: it is rubbed, with several chips and tears, but all text remains legible and the price is unclipped ($3.50). [Please see my five images of the actual book.] "An attempt has been made in this study to present an objective analysis and a systematic interpretation of the particular type of group hostility known as ethnic intolerance. Although this analysis is primarily an effort to contribute to a scientific theory of human behavior---its social basis and psychological motivation---we hope that the diagnosis so arrived at will prove useful in planning a cure for one of the major disorders in contemporary American society: ethnic discrimination and aggression." (page 1) As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly with tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking.
