Map with single minor misfold. Top edge of text-block lightly toned, a little dust-marked, and lightly & sparsely spotted; fore-edge faintly toned, and with tan spot-stain of length 2cm and width up to 0.3cm. Generally clean and tight. VERY GOOD copy in FAIR unclipped dust jacket toned at backstrip panel and lightly so over front and rear panels, rubbed & holed at backstrip panel, lightly rubbed over rear panel and slightly so over front panel, and nicked at head & tail of backstrip panel and at tops & bottoms of folds.

Couple of small minor discolorations along top of spine, and two minor markings on edge of rear cover, but book in excellent condition. Has book plate with signature of Julian W. Feiss, a mining engineer and a graduate of Princeton and the Arizon…a School of Mines. After graduation he worked as a practical miner in Idaho. From 1929 to 1931 he was a field geologist in southern Africa. He then joined the consulting firm of Crowell & Murray and worked in Ontario, South Dakota, and Chile, among other places. In 1937 he went to work at the Climax Molybdenum Mine in Colorado. During World War II, he returned to Africa with the military intelligence services.
