Hardcover: H 24.25cm x L 16.75cm. Dust jacket well foxed with tears, some scuffs, and shallow chipping; front flap's bottom corner is clipped. Dark aquamarine cloth; gilt and black stamping to front board and spine remains bright. Some foxing to text block edges; deckle fore-edge. Strong toning to front endpapers from laid-in news paper clipping; ink ownership inscription on front free endpaper noting book's purchase at Rutledge's plantation in April 1953 (reinforcing likelihood of being a reprint); light toning to rear endpapers. Author's ink signature "Archibald Rutledge" upon half-title page; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. There is a letter taped to the first page from the giver of this book. 28 pages of pictures end of the book. Light tanning to some of the pages. Green boards have minor shelf wear, slight fading at the edges. Mylar cover taped over the pictorial dust jacket. Minor edgewear, light soiling.
