The collection was on loan to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London until 1912, when it was shipped to New York for exhibition, but on Morgan's death in 1913 the collection was dispersed by his son.A rare copy of the monumental deluxe edition of 150 copies, listing the antique bronzes in the collection of the great American collector John Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913). The work is introduced and the objects described by the German art historian Wilhelm von Bode (1845-1929), Director General of the Royal Museum in Berlin.A major deluxe reference work, it was printed by the national printing house Imprimerle nationale de France ) and written in English.
