Die Arbeit rekonstruiert Dworkins Entwurf einer allgemeinen Theorie des Rechts, die das Recht selbst als interpretative Praxis, als kreative bzw. konstruktive Theorienbildung begreift. Der begriffliche und der normative Teil von Dworkins Theorie werden verklammert durch seine Theorie der Interpretation. Mit deren Darstellung beginnt daher auch diese Arbeit. Es folgt - zunächst den normativen Aspekt der Dworkin'schen Theorie betrachtend - eine Rekonstruktion zuerst von Dworkins Modell moralischer Argumentation, dann seiner Kritik einer utilitaristischen politischen Ethik und schließlich seiner eigenen ethischen Position. Aus dem begrifflichen Teil der Dworkin'schen Theorie wird zuerst die Rechtspositivismuskritik vorgestellt und anschließend, begriffliche und normative Aspekte vereinigend, Dworkins Theorie der Rechtsprechung entwickelt. Auf dieser fußt seine These von der richtigen Antwort in (fast) allen Rechtsfällen, die abschließend behandelt wird.
