8vo, pp xii [contents leaf misbound after title page], 390, [4, errata, advertisment, poscript], folding engraved plate, bound in slightly later half calf, spine gilt with raised bands and black label, bookseller's ticket of Eddowes of Shrewsbury [and ownership of Joseph Henry [Warbuton] Lee of Icoyd Hall], upper joint cracked but sound, natural paper flaw to blank corner one leaf but a fine clean copy internally FIRST EDITION; Keys, a keep amateur bee-keeper wrote this treatise in old age to provide others with the benefit of his experience, and to improve upon Thomas Wildman's then popualr work. It did not, however run to a second edition, and is regarded asone of the more desirable English bee-keeping texts of the Eighteenth Century.
