Hardcover. Condition: Fine. First Thus. One of 24 numbered presentation copies of this reprint of a golf classic, originally published in 1913. This version is signed on the limitation page by the modern-day contributors and includes a reproduction of a drawing by the British illustrator Ionicus (Joshua Charles Armitage) that has been handcolored and signed by the artist. Foreword by Peter Thomson; introduction by Fred Hawtree; with contributions by Peter Dobereiner and Philip Truett. 88 pages. First edition (first printing). This is a fine copy bound in cloth, like the edition of 750, but with "Publisher's Presentation Copy" stamped in gilt on the cover. This copy is numbered 9 of 24 on the colophon and signed by Thomson, Hawtree, Dobereiner, Truett, and Ionicus. I think (I am not completely sure) that only the 24 presentation copies have the handcolored illustration by Ionicus.
