Hardback. Basil J. Vlavianos; Feliks Gross, Arts, Incorporated, New York, N.Y. Condition remarks:Book: Good Jacket: N/APages: Good Markings: Previous ownerA rigorous work of political science and Jewish history, Struggle For Tomorrow: Modern Political Ideologies Of The Jewish People presents a comprehensive survey of the competing ideological movements that shaped Jewish political thought in the modern era. Edited by Basil J. Vlavianos and Feliks Gross, the volume chronicles the rise and tensions among Zionism, socialism, liberalism, and other currents of thought that emerged as Jewish communities across the world grappled with questions of identity, nationhood, and survival. Drawing on contributions from leading scholars and thinkers, it details how these ideologies were forged in response to persecution, diaspora, and the transformative upheavals of the twentieth century. The tone is scholarly yet accessible, making it an essential resource for students of political theory, Jewish studies, and modern history who seek to understand the intellectual forces that continue to shape Jewish political life today.
