Excerpt from Introduction: "The Book Club of Washington is pleased to present its first Chapbook, Their Families by Betty Bard MacDonald." Excerpt from Foreword: "'Their Families' is almost certainly Betty MacDonald's first published work." A beautiful book with black-and-white illustrations that have been meticulously hand-colored by the illustrator. The illustrations are colored using a variety of hues in watercolor. Back colophon: "This book is the first in an anticipated series of chapbooks published by The Book Club of Washington. The book has been designed and illustrated by Jennifer Kennard. The text was digitally set by Joseph Uccello in Maiola type designed by Veronika Burian. All copies were letterpress printed on mould-made Hahnemuhle Biblio paper by Evolution Press in Seattle and bound by Puget Bindery in Kent, Washington. A standard edition of two hundred and fifty copies are bound in paper wrappers. A deluxe edition of one hundred copies are hand-stenciled in color, signed and numbered by Jennifer Kennard. The first seventy-five copies of the deluxe edition are specially bound in Japanese book cloth. The remaining twenty-five copies are offered in sheets for hand book-binders."
