Printed on pristine-white, thick uncoated stock paper by Marlborough Graphics Limited in London to the highest standards. The reproduction quality is exemplary in every respect. Without DJ, as issued. Published on the occasion of the eponymous exhibition held at the Marlborough Gallery London from September 20 through October 19, 1991. Presents "Celia Paul: Etchings". Characterized by the great figurative painter's lapidary brilliance while echoing - and paying homage to - the unsurpassed draftsmanship tradition of such figures as Rembrandt and Goya, among others. At her very best, Celia Paul's own draftsmanship is on a level that is comparable to R.B. Kitaj and David Hockney. Unlike them, all of her subjects are familial or near-familial: Her grandmother, mother, sister, cousins, and closest friends.
